Tsum Valley is one of the world’s remotest Himalayan valleys, which was also a restricted region until recently. The trek to Tsum Valley takes you into the majestic surroundings of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, & Boudha Himal ranges. The region once part of Tibet looks completely different from what you will find elsewhere. The people of Tsum Valley, or the Tsumbas, belong to Tibetan origin with their ancient form of dialect, art, culture, and religion.
The Tsum Valley Trek adventure begins with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Upon arrival, our representative from NTB Treks and Expeditions will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. You can also spend the rest of the day exploring the vibrant streets of Kathmandu or relaxing at your hotel. In the evening, enjoy an overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Early in the morning, we will drive from Kathmandu to Aarughar, enjoying scenic views of the countryside along the way. In addition, the journey offers picturesque landscapes, enhancing the experience. Upon reaching Aarughar, we will start our trek toward Arkhet Bazaar after lunch. Along the way, the trail takes you through beautiful landscapes, small villages, and lush green hills. At the end of the day, dinner and overnight stay at a local teahouse in Arkhet Bazaar marks the completion of the second day of the Tsum Valley Trek.
On the third day of the Tsum Valley Trek itinerary, after breakfast, we begin our trek to Khanibesi. The path takes us along the banks of the river, where you can enjoy the serene atmosphere and local culture. Furthermore, we will stop for lunch at a local tea house in Soti Khola before continuing our trek. Upon reaching Khanibesi, dinner will be served, followed by an overnight stay at a local teahouse.
Following breakfast, we trek towards Jagat, passing through Machhakhola and Tatopani. The trail offers stunning views and various landscapes, which makes our Tsum Valley Trek more interesting. In addition, lunch will be taken along the way. We will arrive in Jagat in the evening and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a teahouse.
After breakfast, we set off for Lokpa. The trek involves ascending through picturesque villages and lush greenery, with a lunch stop in Philim, which is one of the main destinations of our Tsum Valley Trek itinerary. As we approach Lokpa, you will appreciate the tranquility of the Tsum Valley. Dinner and an overnight stay at a local teahouse will end our fifth day of the trek.
Today, we will trek to Domje, one of the must-visit places in Tsum Valley. Along the way, we will have lunch at Chumling. The trail takes you through scenic landscapes and offers glimpses of the unique culture of the Tsum Valley, which allows trekkers to immerse in the local culture. Upon reaching Domje, dinner will be served, followed by an overnight stay.
On our seventh day of the Tsum Valley Trek, we will continue our trek to the Nile, where you can explore nearby monasteries (gumbas) and immerse yourself in the local culture. In addition, you will experience a very peaceful environment there. Afterward, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Today, we trek to Mu Gumba, where you will have an opportunity to explore the surrounding areas after lunch. The views from Mu Gumba are breathtaking, offering a unique perspective of the Tsum Valley. In conclusion, dinner and overnight stay will be at a tea house lodge, which will end our eighth day, marking half of the Tsum Valley Trek.
We begin our return trek to Lamagaon, visiting Milarepa Cave and surrounding monasteries along the way. This return trek allows you to appreciate the beauty of the valley from a different angle. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge in Lamagaon.
Today, we will trek from Lamagaon to Ekle Bhatti, passing through Ripchet and Lokpa. We will enjoy the beautiful scenery and the warm hospitality of the local communities. Finally, dinner and overnight stay at a teahouse.
After breakfast, we descend to Khorlabeshi from Ekle Bhatti, with a lunch break at Jagat. This part of the trek allows us to experience the changing landscapes as we descend. We will have dinner and an overnight stay at a local teahouse in Khorlabeshi.
The trek continues down to Soti Khola, where we will spend the night at a teahouse. Enjoying the last views of the beautiful Tsum Valley before heading back towards civilization.
After breakfast, we will descend to Aarughat Bazaar, where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Kathmandu. Along the scenic drive, reflect on the incredible journey you’ve had. Check into your hotel for an overnight stay in Kathmandu.
You will have a free day to explore Kathmandu at your leisure. Take the opportunity for last-minute shopping or visit any sites you may have missed. In the evening, join us for a farewell dinner to celebrate the completion of your Tsum Valley Trek. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
