Overview

Everest Base Camp (EBC) Trek is one of the most challenging mountain treks in the world. Located in Khumbu region of Nepal, this trek has been a very popular destination for trekkers and tourists ever since the very first expedition to the Nepalese side of Mt. Everest in 1953 has been done. It is famous for its spectacular mountain peaks accompanied by the loyalty and friendliness of its inhabitants (the Sherpas). The main attraction of the trek is Mt. Everest (8,848m) which is the highest peak of the planet.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 :

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Meet and greet with our representative, then transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 :

Transfer to the airport for the Lukla flight, from Kathmandu airport or Ramechhap. In the case of Ramechhap, early morning SIC transfer to Manthali/Ramechhap to get the Lukla flight. Trek to Monjo from Lukla. Dinner and overnight stay at the tea house Lodge.

Day 3 :

Day 03: After breakfast start the new day of the EBC trek for well well-renowned Namchebazzar.

Day 4 :

Trek to Tengboche from Namche after breakfast. Visit Tengboche Monastery and walk down to Deboche for dinner & overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 5 :

Walk down to Dudhkoshi & climb up the Pangboche hill. Lunch & excursion of Pangboche Monastery. Trek to Dingboche for an overnight stay & dinner.

Day 6 :

Acclimatization at Dingboche. Walk around the village, rest time, and get your meal & overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 7 :

Trek up to Lobuche from Dingboche, lunch on the way. Dinner & overnight stay at Tea house Lodge at Lobuche.

Day 8 :

After breakfast trek to Gorekshep, lunch & rest for a while. Short excursion of Kalapatthar and back to the lodge for dinner & overnight stay.

Day 9 :

This will be a great day for the trek. Move up to the Everest Base Camp, and spend a couple of times over there and back to Gorekshep for Lukla Heli transfer and continue to fly back to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel & overnight stay.

Day 10 :

Free time until departure transfer. Drop at TIA Kathmandu airport for the final departure.

What is the Everest Base Camp Trek?

How long is the EBC trek?

This itinerary is 10 days, including arrival and departure. The actual trekking is around 7–8 days, with the option of a helicopter return from Everest Base Camp on Day 9.

How difficult is this trek?

It is moderately to highly challenging, mostly due to the altitude and terrain, rather than technical climbing. Prior trekking experience and good physical fitness are recommended.

What is the highest altitude reached?

The trek reaches Kala Patthar (5,545m) and Everest Base Camp (5,364m), both well above 5,000 meters.

Is there time for acclimatization?

Yes. There is a dedicated acclimatization day in Dingboche (Day 6) to help your body adjust to the high altitude.
