Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1345m] | Welcoming the guests is our passion
Embarking on our Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek journey begins in Kathmandu, a city with remarkable architecture dating back to the 16th Century. Our team representative from NTB Treks and Expeditions will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel.
Our representative will help you to check in to the hotel. You will be welcomed, facilitated, and served in a beautiful hotel room. The first arrival day is entirely a break day. In the evening, you can walk around nearby tourist hubs like Thamel and Basantapur Durbar Square.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu City [1345m] |The City of Arts and Architecture |
Kathmandu Valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers a wonderful mix of Hinduism and Buddhism.
After breakfast, we visit UNESCO world heritage sites such as one of the largest Hindu temples, Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddha Stupa, and Swayambhunath Stupa, followed by Kathmandu Durbar Square. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi [1462m] via Dhunche [2030m] | Through Trishuli Bazar | 8- 9 hrs |
After breakfast, we drive to SyabruBesi, which is 135 km from Kathmandu. The drive takes approximately 9 hours to reach SyabruBesi through the Pasang Lhamu Highway. Moving to our destination, we pass through several locations like Kakani (best known for its panoramic view of the great Himalayas of Nepal, the hills, and Kathmandu city itself), Trishuli Bazaar, and Dhunche.
The route will be accompanied by magnificent views of mountains such as Annapurna, Langtang, Gaurishankar, Ganesh, and Manaslu, and an opportunity to observe local villages, their people, and their lifestyle. Overnight at lodge in Syabrubesi.
Day 04: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel [2480m] | Fun of Climbing Rimche | 6- 7hrs |
After breakfast, we walk towards the northern side to cross the suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi River. Continuing the trek, we passed Daman Landslide Lodge, Dangdung Khola, and Langtang Khola. Interestingly, we also climb Rimche. From Rimche, we reach Changtang, which is popularly known as Lama Hotel. On the route, we see terraced fields and dense forests with a variety of species of plants like Oak, Maple, Alder, and Bamboo. Besides that, we get to see yellow-throated martins, Wild Boar, Langur monkeys, Red Panda, and Himalayan Black Bear en route. Overnight at Lama Hotel.
Day 05: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village [3307m] | Exotic sights of Langtang Lirung – the highest peak of the Langtang region | 5- 6 hrs |
We continue the ascent via Langtang Khola. The trail offers the most exotic sights of Langtang Lirung – the highest peak of the Langtang region, several lodges, yak pastures and meadows, cultivated land yielding barley, turnips, wheat, buckwheat, potatoes and scattered Tamang village which is the headquarter of Langtang National Park. Overnight at lodge in Langtang.
Day 06: Langtang Village to Kyangjingompa [3870m] | Let’s try some local cheese | 4 hrs |
KyangjinGompa is one of the popular Gompa in this region. The beauty of the trek is enhanced by surrounding monasteries, government operated cheese factory, scenic forests, hills and mountains, rivers, and undulating glaciers. Additionally, we can also observe and explore the culture, tradition and lifestyle of traditional of ethnic Tamang and Sherpa communities. We can try some local cheesethey are good! Overnight at KyajinGompa.
Day 07: Kyangjingompat Lama Hotel [2480m] | Back to Lama Hotel again | 6- 7hrs |
From Kyangjin, we took the route back to Lama Hotel. We will follow the Langtang village, GhoraTabela to Lama Hotel and will be accommodated at the same place. Overnight at Lama Hotel.
Day 08: Lama Hotel to Thulosyabru Gaon [2200m] | A beautiful village stretched out along the ridgeline | 5- 6 hrs |
We trek from Dhunche to SyabruGaon, which will take us about five and half hours. This route is quite easy in comparison with the others because it takes us through forests and terraced hill slopes. Syabru is a beautiful village stretched out along the ridgeline. From here, we can enjoy spectacular views of LangtangLirung, Tibetan Himalayan ranges and so on. Overnight at lodge in ThuosyabruGaon.
Day 09: Trek to Sing Gompa [3330m] | The main attraction of Chandan Bari | 5- 6 hrs |
The trail to Sing Gompa climbs through forests of Oaks, Firs, and Rhododendrons. We have to climb uphill to each junction and cross another forested ridge. The trail continues across the head of a second valley, Sing Gompa, which is the main attraction of Chandan Bari. Sing Gompa has several hotels and a small cheese factory. Overnight at Sing Gompa.
Day 10: Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda [4460m] | Lord Shiva created a lake by piercing a glacier with his trident to obtain the water to quench his thirst after consuming poison gathered from the churning of the oceans | 6- 7 hrs |
From Sing Gompa, we have to climb a ridge to get into the main Gosainkunda trail. As the trail ascends, outstanding views across Langtang valley to Langtang Lirung and Himalchuli, Ganesh Himal, and Manaslu can be observed. Eventually, the trail descends from the ridge to the three lakes: Saraswati Kund, Bhairab Kund and Gosainkunda. Gosainkunda (Holy Shiva’s lake) is a particularly sacred place of pilgrimage. Hundreds of devotees come to this sacred place in the summer (especially on the day of Janai Purnima, which is one of the popular Hindu festivals). According to the Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva himself created this high-altitude lake. Overnight at the lodge in Gosaikunda.
Day 11: Explore around Gosainkunda [4460m] | A black rock in the middle of the lake, and it is said to be the head of lord Shiva. |
We spent the entire day exploring the lake. The lake is located at an altitude of 4,460m from the sea level and with a conserved area of four-square miles. Many Hindus participate in this huge festival called Janai Purnima that takes place in summer. There is a black rock in the middle of the lake and it is said to be the head of lord Shiva. Nearby Gosainkunda, there are other two lakes – Bhairab Kunda, Saraswati Kund and Surya Kunda.Overnight at lodge in Gosaikunda.
Day 12: Trek To Thadepati [3600m] Via Ghopte [3430m] | Through amazing Suryakunda Lake | 7- 8 hrs |
We enter the Helambu region, which is renowned for its rich Sherpa culture and traditions. We walk uphill a little bit through amazing Suryakunda, from where what we see is just a blue Sky. We also pass several lakes en route, and the view from Lauribinayak Pass is breathtaking. We will ascend for two and a half hours to get to the top, and again, we will step down to Phedi for lunch. Another short ascent will take us to the final destination of the day. Overnight at Thadepati.
Day 13: Thadepati to Kutumsang [2471m] | Making steep descent to the destination | 6 hrs |
From Tharepati there are two different trails, one that leads to Melamchi Bazaar and the other that leads to Kutumsang. Following the second route we walk through the jungles to Kutumsang. We trek down to Mangengoth where we have a lunch and we make steep descent to Kutumsang. Overnight at lodge in Kutumsang.
Day 14: Kutumsang to Chisapani [2194m] | Popular domestic tourism destination for a short hike | 6-7hrs |
Leaving Kutumsang we leave for Chisapani which is also the famous spot for sunrise and sunset. For a last decade Chisapani has been a popular domestic tourism destination for a short hike near Kathmandu City. A walk for three hours through forests, beautiful hills and a Tamang village take us to our destination. Overnight at lodge in Chisapani.
Day 15: Chisapani to Sundarijal | Drive to Kathmandu [1hr] |Celebration for accomplishments
We will trek down to Sundarijal and drive back to Kathmandu. On the way to Sundarijal, we pass through Shivapuri National Park, where we can see varieties of flora and fauna in addition to the beautiful view of Kathmandu Valley and terraced farmlands. An evening farewell dinner will be organized at a Nepali restaurant. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 16: Final Departure | Knowing how satisfied our guests are measured not only by how tight the goodbye hugs are but by staying in touch with us forever.
This is the last day of your visit. You can enjoy shopping and buying souvenir to friends and relatives. We will drop you to the airport 3 hrs prior to the departure time. The memories that you have shared with us matter a lot. Waving hands and goodbye hugs are just not enough, we tell our beloved guests to stay in touch with us, and this is how we feel satisfied by our services.
