BASE CAMP TREK
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1345m] | Welcoming the guests is our passion |
Embarking on our journey begins from Kathmandu, the city with the remarkable architecture dated back to 16th Century. Our team representative will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel. Our representative will help you to check in to the hotel. You will be welcomed, facilitated and served with a beautiful hotel room. The first arrival day is entirely a break day. In the evening, you can walk around nearby touristic hubs like Thamel and Basantapur Durbar square. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu [1345m] | The city of arts and architecture |
Kathmandu valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers a wonderful mix of Hinduism and Buddhism. After breakfast we visit UNESCO world heritage sites as one of the largest Hindu temple Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddha Stupa and Swoyambhunath Stupa followed with, Kathmandu Durbar Square. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Jiri [1905m] | Wonderful snake shaped road to Nepal’s Switzerland |
We start our long trip to Everest Base Camp via Jiri. We drive to Jiri which is 188 km far from Kathmandu and takes about 8–9 hours. We witness lots of beautiful villages, mountains, rivers, forests and waterfalls on the way to our destination. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 04: Jiri to Bhandara [2190m] | Outstanding terrace fields with beautiful villages | 5-6 hrs
We start the trek right after having breakfast. We walk across several beautiful villages amidst nice green scenic background and terrace fields. We will be amazed with the hospitality of locals. Upon reaching Bhandara, a small settlement, we will be accommodated for the night at tea house lodge / camp.
Day 05: Bhandara to Sete [2575m] | Descending to the river bridge | 4-5hrs
After breakfast we continue the trek to Sete. We descend to LikhuKhola and after crossing the bridge we come across the windy path that leads to a small village called Kinja. Excellent views of numerous farmhouses, terrace fields and their surroundings will definitely make our trek worthwhile. Finally, after long day walk, we arrive at Sete. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 06: Sete to Junbesi [2680m] | Gossiping with rhododendrons | 6-7 hrs
Continuing the trek, we make a long but gradual climb to the Lamjurapass (3,530 m). If it is winter, we enjoy to the fullest with mesmerizing frost and snow along the trail. If it is spring / summer we have an opportunity to see flowering rhododendrons everywhere in the trails. We follow the pass which is the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar. From this point we descend to Tragdobuk at 2,860 m heading towards the Sherpa village in Junbesi at 2,675 m. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 07: Junbesi to Nunthala [3080 m] | The first glimpse of Mount Everest | 5-6hrs
Leaving Junbesi we trek up to Nunthala. We climb to a ridge of 3,080 meters height from where Everest slowly begins to appear in front of our eye. The trail leads to the hospital and airstrip at Phaplu and the district headquarters and bazaar at Salleri. Continuing the journey, we leave Salung and make our way downwards to the RingmoKhola (2,650 m). Everest is seen quite visible from Nunthala. Overnight at tea house lodge / camp.
Day 08: Nunthala to Bupsadanda [2300m] | Dudhkoshi heartily welcomes us | 5-6hrs
From Nunthala the trail heads downwards to DudhKoshi River followed by Jubling and several other villages. We climb uphill to the village around the ridge. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 09: Bupsadanda to Puiyan [2550m] | Spectacular views of great Himalaya | 4-5hrs
From Bupsadanda we continue the journey passing the rivers, forests, and villages and reach Puiyan from where we get the magnificent views of great Himalayas and mountains. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/camp.
Day 10: Puiyan to Phakding [2610m] | The fertile soil for vegetation | 4-5hrs
The trail leads us along the long winding path with few small ups and downs to Surke Chaurikharka, a large scattered settlement also housing a monastery and a high school. The village is known for its fertile soil for barley, wheat and green vegetables. This trail will be then joined by another trail from Lukla towards Phakding. The path seems quite busy with trekkers, porters and pack animals. Few hours of further walk bring us to Phakding. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 11: Phakding to Namche Bazaar [3440m] | Here we are at Monjo | 5-6hrs
After leaving Phakding we cross the river twice through high suspension bridges and arrive at Monjo, the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park which was set-up in order to protect and preserve the fragile mountain environment. From here, we follow the path to reach Namche, which is the major trading village in entire Khumbu region. If the weather is clear, we get another glimpse of Mt Everest. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 12: Rest Day at Namche Bazaar for Acclimatization | Khunde Hospital built by Sir Edmund Hillary
We spend our entire day in Namche by taking complete rest in order to acclimatize to gain altitude, plan for forthcoming trips and get habituated for trekking destinations. We also visit Sherpa Museum and nearby Khunde Hospital which was set up by Sir Edmund Hillary and Everest View Hotel for sunset view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and AmaDablam. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche [3867m] | A legendary monastery | 5-6hrs
The trail follows the path to the side of the valley, high above the DudhKoshi River. We will get to see some great views of mountains peaks of the Khumbu region including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and AmaDablam. As we move downwards, we pass through several Sherpa villages and teashops and continue the hike to reach Tengboche by following the zigzag path. The path offers awesome sights of Rhododendron bushes with beautiful birds and superb mountain scenery. Tengboche is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 14: Tengboche to Dingboche [4358m] | Close up view of Amadablam | 5-6hrs
Right after breakfast we start our trek down to Dingboche village crossing several forests of Rhododendron. Upon crossing the bridge, we arrive in one of the beautiful villages, Pangboche. The trail then continues to Dingboche so as the excitement. We can have a closer view of Mt. Amadablam Five more hours of further walk and we find ourself at Dingboche which is also the gateway to Chukung Village and Island peak. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 15: Rest Day at Dingboche for Acclimatization
We spend our entire day in Dingboche by taking complete rest in order to acclimatize to gain altitude, plan for forthcoming trips and get habituated to the trekking destinations. However, we can also hike around Dingboche. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 16: Dingboche to Lobuche [4928m] | Climbing up remembering climbers | 5-6hrs
After leaving Dingboche we ascend towards the terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier through a rugged route by following the path to Thukla. Moreover, we climb memorable park of climbers. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 17: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep [5160m] | Mt. Nuptse at its best | 5-6hrs
We continue our trek towards the Everest Base Camp and the Khumbu Ice-fall via Goarkshep village. The route will be accompanied by adventurous windy and rocky paths. Besides that, we have opportunities to get glimpses of Mt. Pumori, Mt. Nuptse and other magnificent peaks. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/camp.
Day 18: Gorakshep to Kala Patthar [5550m] & Stroll Back to Pheriche (4200m) | Incredible sunrise in the Himalayas | 6-7hrs
In the early morning we move ahead to Kala Patthar from where we can enjoy the view of sunrise in the Himalayas including the mighty Everest, and many other mountain peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. AmaDablam, and Mt. Thamserku. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 19: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar [3440m] | Trail across the mountain rivers. | 5-6hrs
Our journey continues towards Namche. The trail takes us across rivers and rhododendron forests amidst the views of Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, AmaDablam, Kantega and Thamserku mountains. Walking across several villages and teashops, the trail then ascends steeply to Sanasa where local Sherpas sell their Tibetan goods. Overnight at tea house lodge.
Day 20: Namche Bazaar to Lukla [2860m] | Giving rest to tired legs | 7-8hrs
The final day of the trek and the ultimate destination is Lukla. The path goes along the bank of Dudhkoshi River to reach Lukla. Upon reaching Lukla in the evening, we have time to enjoy local drinks with Sherpa guides and porters. Overnight at tea house lodge.
Day 21: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu | 40mins | Celebration for accomplishments |
After having breakfast, we walk for our flight to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu airport, our team representative will transfer you to the designated hotel. In the evening, you have free time for refreshments and shopping. Evening farewell dinner will be organized at Nepali restaurant with cultural program. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 22: Final departure | to know how satisfied our guests are measured not only by how tight the goodbye hugs are but by staying in touch with us forever.
This is the last day of your visit. You can enjoy shopping and buying souvenir to friends and relatives. We will drop you to the airport 3 hrs prior to the departure time. The memories that you have shared with us matter a lot. Waving hands and goodbye hugs are just not enough, we tell our beloved guests to stay in touch with us. This is the way how we feel satisfied by our services
