Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu – The city of arts and architecture |
Embarking on our journey begins from Kathmandu, the city with the remarkable architecture dated back to 16th Century. Our team representative will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel. Our representative will help you to check in to the hotel. You will be welcomed, facilitated and served with a beautiful hotel room. The first arrival day is entirely a break day. In the evening, our guests can walk around nearby touristic hubs like Thamel and Basantapur Durbar square.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley [1345m] The city of arts and architecture |
Kathmandu valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers a wonderful mix of Hinduism and Buddhism. After breakfast we visit UNESCO world heritage sites as one of the largest Hindu temple Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddha Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa Kathmandu Durbar Squar. Back to hotel, rest for the remaining day. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Flight to Lukla and Trek to Phakding [2652m] Trek starts from Tenzing Hilary Airport|3hrs
After breakfast we board a flight to Lukla and land on a steep mountain runway that brings us a new start of our trek at the village of Lukla (2,850 m). Even during the entire flight we can enjoy panoramic sights of great Himalayas of Nepal including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,153m), Mt. Lhotse (8,501m), Mt. Lhotse Shar (8,393m), Kanchenjunga, Gaurishankar, Ganesh, Langtang etc. From Lukla, we head upward to DudhKoshi Valley on a well-marked trail to Phakding. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
Day 04: Phakding to Namche [3440m] | Major Trading Village | 6hrs
Leaving Phakding we cross the river twice through high suspension bridges and arrive at Monjo, the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park which was set-up in order to protect and preserve the fragile mountain environment. From here we follow the path to reach Namche which is the major trading village in entire Khumbu region. If the weather is clear we can get the first glimpse of Mt Everest. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
Day 05: Rest Day in Namchebazar [3440m] Namche Exploration |
We spend our entire day in Namche by taking complete rest in order to acclimatize to gain altitude, plan for forthcoming trips and get habituated for trekking destinations. We also visit Sherpa Museum and nearby Khunde Hospital which was set up by Sir Edmund Hillary and Everest View Hotel for sunset view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Phortse [3970m] | A typical Sherpa Village | 5-6hrs |
We move ahead via Thame, which is an old Sherpa and located along the Bhote Koshi river valley. On the way we can see the mesmerizing view of Tibetan nomads with hundreds of Yak caravan moving to trade goods at Namche. Continuing the journey, after couple of hours of walk, we reach Khumjung. Khumjung is another great Sherpa village where we can observe and explore the traditions and cultures of local communities. Besides that, we can also get magnificent views of Himalayas like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam etc. Our final destination for the day is Phortse – the main Sherpa village around this trail where we can further observe and experience the socio-cultural aspect of the community. Overnight at lodge in Phortse.
Day 07: Phortse Thanga to Dole [4040m] | Passing through herders’ hut &many kharkas 3-4hrs |
To make our self with better acclimatization, today we spend a very short time trekking. The trail first climbs steeply out of the valley crossing beautiful rhododendron forests. We pass through herders’ hut, many kharkas, summer settlements used by the Sherpas to graze their Yaks & climb to Dole. We observe mesmerizing views of Khumbila nad Tawoche. Overnight at lodge in Dole.
Day 08: Dole to Machhermo [4410m] | Yeti was reported to have attacked in 1974 | 4hrs |
The trail climbs steeply to a single lodge at Lhabarma. We pass through a small settlement of Luza and continue to climb along the side of the valley high above the river to Machhermo. This is the place where Yeti was reported to have attacked a Sherpa and killed three Yaks in 1974. Overnight at lodge in Machhermo
Day 09: Machhermo to Gokyo [4750m] | A grazing area built beside the third and biggest lake, Dudh Pokhari | 6-7hrs |
The trail climbs a ridge for an excellent view both down the valley to Kantega and upwards to Cho Oyu. Beyond the ridge, the valley widens as the trail reaches the small village of Pangka Nilibuk. From there, we follow the ridge heading towards a small lake Longponga and Lake Tauja. Finally we make a climb up a boulder-strewn path to Gokyo. Gokyo is a seasonal village and grazing area built beside the third and biggest lake, Dudh Pokhari. The village has started to become popular with trekkers making it like a Himalayan resort in terms of comfortable lodges with sunny rooms, unbeatable views, excellent food and warm stoves. Overnight at lodge in Gokyo.
Day 10: Gokyo to Gokyo Ri [5,357m] & Return to Gokyo | the biggest glacier in the world | 4-5hrs |
Gokyo offers breathtaking views of Cho Oyu, Gyanchung Kang, Everest, Lothse, Makalu, Cholatse and Tawachee. We can see a lot more from the nearby hill in Gokyo, this spot is called Scoundrel’s Viewpoint. From the northern part of the 5th lake we see the Cho Oyu base camp and Ngazumpa Glacier which is considered as the biggest glacier in the world. For the best view, we can climb up to Gokyo Ri before returning to Gokyo village. Overnight at lodge in Gokyo.
Day 11: Gokyo to Thagnak [4700m] | The moraine through the Ngozumpo glacier | 4-5hrs |
We move our steps to the second lake and climb to the crest of the moraine through the Ngozumpo glacier. The trail over the glacier is well marked with cairns and takes us to the eastern side of the Gokyo Valley. We also cross the Gokyo glacier making our way downwards to the village of Thagnak, situated at the very shore of the Ngozumpa Glacier. Overnight at lodge in Thagnak.
Day 12: Thagnak to Dzongla [4830m] via Chola Pass [5330m]|Steep with glacier crossing| 7hrs |
The pass from Thangna to Dzongla is quite easy. However, it is steep and involves a glacier crossing and takes about five and half hours to complete. There’s a slight ascent along the valley towards Chola pass, which is covered with ice during the cold season. There is an option to carry crampons. From here we can enjoy the panoramic views of various mountains before the trail descends all the way to Dzongla. Overnight at lodge in Dzongla.
Day 13: Dzongla to Lobuche [4910m] | Spectacular views of Pheriche and Dhugla | 4-5hrs |
We descend downhill with the spectacular views of Pheriche and Dhugla which are visible amidst the backdrop of magnificent mountains. It takes about four and half hours to complete the trip. Overnight at lodge in Lobuche.
Day 14: – Lobuche via Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp & Return to Gorak Shep | the Western side is technically regarded as the hardest and most dangerous section to traverse for those climbers of Everest Expeditions | 6-7hrs |
To reach Gorakshep we have to pass Kala Patthar and Khumbu glaciers surrounded by astoundingly beautiful snow-clad mountains. Three hours of further walking and we reach Gorak Shep. From the EBC we can see not just the great views of Mount Everest, but also notorious Khumbu Ice Fall that flow from the Western side, which is technically regarded as the hardest and most dangerous section to traverse for those climbers of Everest Expeditions. After spending some time in EBC we head back to Gorakshep for the accommodation. Overnight at lodge in Gorakshep.
Day 15: Gorakshep to Kalapathar [5,545m] via Pheriche [4200m] | The view of sunrise in the Himalayas | 6hrs |
In the early morning we hike up to Kala Patthar from where we can enjoy the view of sunrise in the Himalayas including the mighty Everest, and many other mountain peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, and Mt. Thamserku. After observing Kala Patthar, we continue the journey to Pheriche where our accommodation is managed for the day. Overnight at lodge in Pheriche.
Day 16: Pheriche to Phortse [3970m]|An excellent place to see Musk Deer and national birds|5-6hrs|
We trek from Pheriche to Phortse. Phortse is the main Sherpa village around this trail where we can observe and enjoy the socio-cultural aspect of the community. We also visit an old Monastery and take a walk alongside a steep path with great views of Ama Dablam and the Tengboche monastery. Phortse is also an excellent place to see Musk Deer and Danphe (national bird of Nepal). Overnight at lodge in Phortse.
Day 17: Phortse to Namche [3450m] via Khumjung [3970m] | Walking through the beautiful forests of Rhododendrons, Birch and Willows | 6-7hrs |
To make our trek more worthwhile we continue the journey and walk through beautiful forests of Rhododendrons, Birch and Willows. After crossing the Dudh Koshi River we climb up hill to Mong La (4,020m). From Mong La we walk to Khumjung village and descend towards Namche Bazaar for an overnight stay. Overnight at lodge in Namche Bazaar.
Day 18: Namche Bazaar to Lukla [2860m] | Giving rest to tired legs | 7-8hrs
The final day of the trek and the ultimate destination is Lukla. The path goes along the bank of Dudhkoshi River to reach Lukla. Upon reaching Lukla in the evening, we have time to enjoy local drinks with Sherpa guides and porters. Overnight at tea house lodge.
Day 19: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu | 40mins | Celebration for accomplishments |
After having breakfast, we walk for our flight to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu airport, our team representative will transfer you to the designated hotel. In the evening, you have free time for refreshments and shopping. Evening farewell dinner will be organized at Nepali restaurant with cultural program. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 20: Final Departure | to know how satisfied our guests are measured not only by how tight the goodbye hugs are but by staying in touch with us forever.
This is the last day of your visit. You can enjoy shopping and buying souvenir to friends and relatives. We will drop you to the airport 3 hrs prior to the departure time. The memories that you have shared with us matter a lot. Waving hands and goodbye hugs are just not enough, we tell our beloved guests to stay in touch with us. This is the way how we feel satisfied by our services.
