DHAULAGIRI BASECAMP

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1345m] | The city of arts and architecture |
Embarking on our journey begins from Kathmandu, the city with the remarkable architecture dated back to 16th Century. Our team representative will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel. Our representative will help you to check in to the hotel. You will be welcomed, facilitated and served with a beautiful hotel room. The first arrival day is entirely a break day. In the evening, our guests can walk around nearby touristic hubs like Thamel and Basantapur Durbar square.

Half day sightseeing of Swayambhunath stupa & Kathmandu Durbar square. Later on, tour briefing program for the exciting trekking will be arranged during or after breakfast. There will be a full day preparation for trekking after briefing. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Drive to Beni [850m] | Exciting drive to a beautiful city | 8-9hrs |
After having a breakfast we drive to Beni (295 Kms). Alternatively, we can also take a flight to Pokhara & drive to Beni (82 kms, 2 hours’ drive). Throughout the drive, we witness splendid views of mountains, villages and cities and forests along with the banks of Trishuli and Marsyangi rivers below us. Further drive from Pokhara to Beni offers the magnificent sights of Annapurna Himalayan range. Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 04: Beni to Babichaur [950m] | Trek begins with the fabulous river views and bridges | 5hrs
This day marks the beginning of our actual trek. After breakfast we start trekking sideways of the Kali Gandaki River and then head towards Myagdikhola by crossing suspension bridges. The trail goes through the villages of Mangalghat, Singa, and Tatopani before reaching Babichaur. Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 05: Babichaur to Dharapani [1400m] | The village with the essence of purity and localness | 6hrs
The trekking route is quite wide, smooth and graveled until we reach Darbang. On the way we pass a small town, forests of rhododendrons and several villages. Dharapani is comparatively a big village with rich in tradition and large houses constructed by thatched straws, woods, tins and other materials found in the mountain itself. Locals here are renowned for their warm hospitality. Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 06: Dharapani to Muri [1800m] | Spectacular view of Manapathi peak and Dhaulagiri range | 5hrs
Right after leaving Dharapani we descend and walk through several local villages and cross a suspension bridge over the river from where the trail turns uphill. We then follow the gentle ascending path to Muri, a small beautiful village. We can also grab a wonderful opportunity to get a glimpse of Manapathi peak and the whole Dhaulagiri range. Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 07: Muri to Boghara [2080m] | Ups and downs walk along with a river bank | 6hrs
We descend through a rocky stream towards the terraced fields to DhoraKhola from where we have to climb up the mountainside to GhobanDhara. On the way we can see Ghutsung South (6,465m). We again descend to the Myagdi Khola and walk along its west bank to the village of Naura from where we climb a little before traversing a grassy hill and climbing a steep slope with switch-backs and then descend again through a forest and terraced fields to the destination. Day 08: Boghara to Dhobang [2520m] | A single beautiful hut in the entire route | 5hrs
The trail first descends through the terraced fields to a small ridge and then through a forest to Jyardan, which is the most remote permanent settlement in these parts. After the settlement, a high winding path crosses a rocky area and then descends before climbing again to Lipshe where there is only a single hut. The trail then continues through a forest to LapcheKharka and then ascends to the leveledm area at Dhobang (2,520m). Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 09: Dhobang to Italian Base Camp [3660m] | Beginning of the real adventure | 7hrs
The trail goes through the raging Myagdikhola. Soon, we cross the bridge and then climb steeply through bamboo and old growth forests. We also have to cross two sections where part of the trail has been washed away by landslides. We may witness Langurs jumping over the trees. After reaching up there at Italian Base Camp we can see some beautiful peaks to the west, for instance, Dhaulagiri II (7751meters), Dhaulagiri III (7715 meters) and Dhaulagiri V (7618 meters). Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 10: Rest & Acclimatization Day
This is the rest day for acclimatizing at the Italian Base Camp. However, we also have the option to climb a small ridge heading to the American Base Camp. Though the main summit of Dhaulagiri isn’t visible, we can still get close up views of the big massif. Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 11: Italian Base Camp to Glacier Camp [4210m] | Walking through a narrow and beautiful gorge…| 6hrs
Moving ahead from the Italian Base Camp we trek up to Glacier camp. Due to the probability of stone fall we must be careful while we walk as the trail passes through a narrow gorge. Overnight stay at lodge/ camp.
Day 12: Glacier Camp to Dhaulagiri Base Camp [4740m] | The most awaited day… | 7hrs
This is the most awaited day for our trekking. Dhaulagiri Base Camp is the best spot to take perfect views of the northern face of Dhaulagiri-I (8167m) dominating the skyline to your right; Dhaulagiri-II (7751m), Dhaulagiri-III (7715m) and Dhaulagiri-V (7618m) visible on the western side. Right to our front line the magnificent fall that descends from the northeast. Overnight stay at lodge/ camp.
Day 13: Acclimatization Day
This is again a rest day at the Dhaulagiri Base Camp. In the meantime, we can hike around the base camp that offers the superb views of great Himalayas and hills. Overnight stay at lodge/ camp.
Day 14: Dhaulagiri Base Camp to Hidden Valley Camp [4900m] via French Pass [5360m] | A gentle incline after crossing the mountain flank and the moraine on the left from an ablation valley | 6hrs|
Leaving the Dhaulagiri base Camp we trek up to Hidden Valley Camp. We reach our destination by crossing the French Pass (5,360m) from where we get the panoramic views of Mukut Himal (6,328m), Tashi Kang (6386m), Sita Chuchura (6,611m), Tukche Peak (6,920m) and the massive peak of Dhaulagiri-I as well. Overnight stay at lodge/ camp.
Day 15: Hidden Valley Camp to Yak Kharka via Dhampus Pass [3680m] | The most beautiful surrounding it offers. | 6hrs
From the Hidden Camp, you will descend to Yak Kharka by crossing the Dhampus Pass (5,200m). Yak Kharka offers many panoramic views of the beautiful sceneries and peace & calm to enjoy with. Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 16: Yak Kharka to Jomsom [2710m] | The village of Apple Brandy | 5hrs |
We leave Yak Kharka and descend towards Jomsom – the Marpha village that is located on the west bank of Kali Gandaki River. Marpha is home to many Apple orchards as well as various food products made out of the fruit. Marpha is also famous for its Apple Brandy, which can be tasted en route. Overnight stay at lodge/ hotel.
Day 17: Fly to Pokhara 910m | Fly back to the origin | 20mins |
We leave for Pokhara city via flight. Upon reaching Pokhara, we have an ample time to roam around the city. We can also visit Fewa Lake which is famous for boating. If the weather is clear we may see the reflection of Mt. Machhapuchhre in the lake. Barahi Temple is located in the middle of the lake. Other interesting destinations would be Davis Water fall, Tibetan Refugee Settlement, Gupteshwor Cave & International Mountain Museum. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 18: Drive to Kathmandu | 1345m | 6-7hrs |
After breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. Evening is free for some shopping and relaxation. In the evening there will be a Nepalese Traditional Dinner with a cultural show program. We share our adventurous stories and celebrate the success of our trip together. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 19: Final Departure | to know how satisfied our guests are measured not only by how tight the goodbye hugs are but by staying in touch with us forever.
This is the last day of your visit. You can enjoy shopping and buying souvenir to friends and relatives. We will drop you to the airport 3 hrs prior to the departure time. The memories that you have shared with us matter a lot. Waving hands and goodbye hugs are just not enough, we tell our beloved guests to stay in touch with us. This is the way how we feel satisfied by our services.
